Psalm 84:11-12 (NIrV)

  1. "The LORD God is like the sun that gives us light. He is like a shield that keeps us safe. The LORD blesses us with favor and honor. He doesn't hold back anything good from those whose lives are without blame.

  2. LORD who rules over all, blessed is the person who trusts in You."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Today, the Word of God tells us a few things about who God is. First of all, we see God is like the sun that provides us with light. Imagine, how bright the sun is, God is compared to the sun except His light is brighter than the sun because God is the Creator of Light. We can also see that God is like the shield that keeps us safe. This reminds us that God is a Protector and Helper who keeps all His children safe. In the above verses, we are also reminded of God's goodness. That is, God as Creator of heaven and earth, holds everything in His hands and because He holds everything in His hands, God gives good to those who live their lives without blame in the name of Jesus. This is the reason that we can put our trust in God's goodness.

The Word 'trust' simply means you know this person will do what they say. So, in this case we trust God and what He says in His Word because we know He has the power to do what He says in His Word and in our lives. AMEN!

Prayer: Father God, thank you that You are good. Thank you that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light that shines to show us the way in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD for keeping us safe as Protector and Helper of our lives. We ask that You continue to keep us under Your shield of safety in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD God that this morning, we worship You as the One who rules over everything and we put our trust in You knowing that You will not hold back anything good from our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
