Faith in prayer
Father God, thank you that this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's devotional is about prayer. I want you to think for a moment, who is a priest and what does a priest do?
One of the duties that a priest has is to pray for the people. Did you know that Jesus is a Priest? He is not just any Priest but a High Priest. This ranking as High Priest was given to Him by God which makes Him very powerful when it comes to praying and meeting our needs as God's children (Hebrews 4:14-15). This is the reason we can confidently pray about our needs in the name of Jesus knowing that everything we ask God for, He will give it to us if it is in line with God's promises for you.
Let's meditate on this word found in 1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for giving me Jesus as my High Priest who prays for me. Thank you that I can also be quick to bring my needs to you because You care and You will answer me when I ask anything according to Your will. Lord, I bring this need to you--------------------------------------(fill the blank space with your need) and I am trusting you to help me meet this need in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD because I have received my answer and Your goodness for my life in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave us is receiving salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you would like to receive this free gift of God's salvation, please say this prayer with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." - AMEN.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation and redemption that we have freely received from Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Thank you LORD for each child and family member that just said this prayer and received Jesus into their hearts. Thank you LORD God that You are keeping them this day and forever and nothing will snatch them out of Your loving hands in the name of Jesus, Amen.
