Friend forever

Praise the LORD. Father God, thank you that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path and as we read it and think on it, you are giving us wisdom and direction for our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Today's Word for us to consider and think on comes from;

John 15:13 (NKJV)

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Do you have a best friend or may be a really close friend whose house you visit and have play dates together? Maybe you attend each other's birthday parties? In other instances, you go to school together, are in the same class, have lunch together because that is how close you are. Or maybe you have friends but you do not spend a lot of time together which is also good because you are still friends.

Yesterday, we looked at Jesus as the High Priest that helps to meet our needs in the area of prayer when we pray using His name.

Today, we are looking a Jesus as a Friend and not just any friend. The verse in John 15:13 above tells us that Jesus is a friend who lays down his life for you.

Let's consider, how did Jesus lay down his life for you? - By willingly dying on the cross for the sins of the world and Father God raising Him from the dead so that whoever would believe in His name would be saved and have eternal life.

Proverbs 18:24 also reminds us that Jesus is that friend that sticks closer than a brother which simply means that if there is a time you need someone to help you but maybe you are unable to find them or you cannot reach them, Jesus promises to be that friend that sticks closer than a brother because He is always with you all the time, wherever you go and He promises to provide for all your needs. The Word of God also reminds us that the LORD will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8). Jesus is our Friend forever. AMEN.

Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave is by laying down His life for us to receive salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

If you would like to receive this free gift of God's salvation, please say this prayer with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." - AMEN.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation and redemption that we have freely received from Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Thank you LORD for each child and family member that just said this prayer and received Jesus into their hearts. Thank you LORD God that You are keeping them this day and forever and nothing will snatch them out of Your loving hands in the name of Jesus, Amen.
