God is faithful
Father God, thank you for all that You are and all that You always do for us everyday. We say thank you for your love, goodness and mercy in the name of Jesus. Right now God, we thank you for giving us understanding about Your faithfulness in the name of Jesus, Amen.
What does it mean for God to be faithful?
It means God's love concerning you has no end.
God's faithfulness also means that sometimes, it is possible to make a mistake but God does not change His mind about loving you because you made a mistake.
It also means that when God promises to do something for you, He will do it because God does not tell lies.
A story in the Bible that shows us God's faithfulness is the story of Abraham. Abraham was a man who feared God and followed God with all of his heart. However, Abraham and his wife Sarah did not have a child together. So one time, God tells Abraham that He is going to bless him. God also tells Abraham that He would bless him with a child with his wife, Sarah. This promise was good, anyone would be excited to hear this great news of a baby coming into their lives. But there was one problem. Naturally, Abraham and Sarah were really old in age and could no longer have children.
Abraham without any doubt believed God would do what He said because Abraham refused to consider his old age. This shows us Abraham's faith as knew that God was faithful to keep His Word and bless them with a son despite their old age.
On the other hand, his wife laughed at what God said because she could not imagine having a baby at her old age. At one point, God asked Sarah, "Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah will have a son." (Genesis 18:14).
Later on, we see God's Word fulfilled exactly the way He promised Abraham and Sarah. Genesis 21:1-2 (NKJV) tells us, "And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." We see Sarah laughing again and this time she is laughing with joy because she is thankful for God's faithfulness to give them a son. The name of their son was Isaac and Abraham was a hundred (100) years old when Isaac was born (Genesis 21:5).
I highly encourage you to open your Bible and read the story of Abraham and his wife Sarah. Do it with family and friends, you will be blessed.
