Healing

Updated: Aug 11

Father God, thank you for the entrance of Your Word. Give us understanding as we read the Word today in the name of Jesus, amen. Thank you LORD.

1 Peter 2:24 (NIrV)

"He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did it so that we would die as far as sins are concerned. Then we would lead godly lives. His wounds have healed you."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Today's devotional is about Jesus, the healer. In the New testament, the Bible shares stories of children that were affected by diseases, infirmity and some who died as well. But thankfully, Jesus was able to heal every sick children and raised one from the dead as well for example, Jairus' daughter who got sick to the point of death was raised to life by Jesus (Mark 5:38-43). You see, Jesus loves children very much and is more than happy to give you His blessing of healing and perfect health.

How do you get Jesus' healing today? To understand this, first you have to know that God loves you very much and Jesus is the God's gift of love to the world. This happened when God, the Father sent His Son, Jesus to die for the sins of the world and for healing. So now that you know of God's love, you receive it by accepting Jesus, believing with your heart and confessing with your mouth. Please see invitation to salvation prayer below.

Above, I shared some of the miracles that Jesus did both for children and adults but a time came when He had to die for the sins of the world and take on every disease in His body on the cross. This was not an easy thing for Jesus but out of His love for you, He went through all the pain of dying a painful death on the cross so that you would live a healthy life.

Some of the painful things Jesus went through was, beaten by the soldiers, spat on by the people (Matthew 27:30) and the crowds were shouting "crucify Him!" (Luke 23:21).

Even though Jesus was innocent, He did not fight back. He did not argue and ask the people to hear His side of the story. Instead, Jesus fully put His trust in God to be His defender.

Thousands of years later, you and I are thankful that Jesus stayed obedient to God, the Father despite the huge pain He went through. Because Jesus willingly went to the cross, our sins are forgiven and we are healed by His wounds. Jesus received many wounds in His body because of the beatings of the soldiers. Jesus did not complain but patiently endured all things because He loved us. These painful beatings gave Him wounds and because of Jesus' wounds we are healed. Every beating and stripe that Jesus received in His body was very painful. But Jesus went through that pain so that none of His children would ever carry sickness and disease in their bodies. Because Jesus trusted in God when He was accused for a crime He did not do is the reason we are now called the children of God as seen in 1 John 3:1 (NKJV). It reads, "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!" Amen.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for sending Your One and only Son, Jesus Christ who not only died for all my sins but by His wounds I was also healed of every sickness and disease. Thank you LORD for Your love that has healed me. My body organs are whole and healed by Jesus' wounds. My bones are strong and healed by Jesus' wounds. My speech is good and I speak words clearly because I am healed by Jesus' wounds. My brain chemistry is healed by Jesus' wounds. My heart is whole and filled with joy and peace because it is healed by Jesus wounds. Every sadness, fear, worry and anxiety of every form is far from my life because Jesus in His love for me bore it in His body and by His wounds I am healed. Thank you LORD that I walk in the freedom that You died to give me on the cross and because of You I now live a life of divine health and with a whole heart all the days of my life in the name of Jesus, Amen. GLORY TO GOD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to become a child of God and become born again into God's Kingdom in heaven where all of your sins are forgiven and by Jesus' wounds you are healed, please say this prayer below:

"Thank you Father God for sending Jesus, Your One and Only Son to die for my sins. I receive Him today and forever as Lord and Saviour of my life in the name of Jesus, Amen."
