Jesus multiplies
Praise the LORD children of God.
Today's devotional is about God who multiplies the little we give to Him. In the gospels (the gospels are the four books found in the New Testament that speak of Jesus' life here on earth. These books are; Matthew, Mark, Luke, John).
In all four gospels, is a story of Jesus sharing the Word of God with a big crowd of people. After he shared the Word of God, Jesus realized the people were hungry so He asked his disciples to give them something to eat but they asked Him where they would get bread to feed so many people. So he asked them what they had and one of them had a school boy's lunch with two (2) fish and five (5) loaves of bread (John 6:5-9). Jesus got those loaves and fish, He prayed over the food and blessed it. Jesus then asked His disciples to make the people sit down (John 6:10) Jesus miraculously multiplied the five loaves of bread and two fish to feed over 5000 people. Everyone had something to eat. They ate food till they were all filled up and they were left overs as well. In fact Jesus said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost." (John 6:12). This story in the Bible is a reminder that God will always take care of our needs.
Yesterday, we looked at the Kingdom of God and saw that what we do with what God has given to us is important to God.
Today, we are reminded of what happens when we give our lives to the LORD and give Him the little we have - Jesus multiplies it. This parable is a reminder that Jesus does not need a lot to to do great and mighty things. He only requires our will to obey Him and give Him the little we have and He will multiply it and use it for greater things that give glory and praise to God.
Prayer: LORD Jesus, thank you that we can come to You the way we are because You created us and love us the way we are. Thank you that even right now LORD, we surrender our wills to You and joyfully give you our little in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that we sharing with those around us the little You have blessed us with the strength and ability that You give to us. Thank you that we have been blessed to be a blessing. Thank you Father God for blessing the works of our hands and multiplying everything all for the glory of Your kingdom in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave us is receiving salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you would like to receive this free gift of God's salvation, please say this prayer with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." - AMEN.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation and redemption that we have freely received from Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Thank you LORD for each child and family member that just said this prayer and received Jesus into their hearts. Thank you LORD God that You are keeping them this day and forever and nothing will snatch them out of Your loving hands in the name of Jesus, Amen.
