Kingdom of God

Romans 14:17 (NKJV)

"For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Amen, thank you LORD.

So how many of us know that God wants us to have a good time? That is, enjoying the free things that God has freely given to us like food and drinks and playing with our toys. All these things are good but God is reminding us today that His Kingdom is made up of so much more. Let's take for example, you have some food, you have been playing some games and are really looking forward to eating your meal.

However, someone comes to you, they look hungry and they do not have a meal and they ask for some of your meal but because you are so hungry, you tell them you do not have enough food or you lie and say you have no food? Another example is someone who has many toys but does not like to share their toys.

In both these cases, the question is, 'what would God want you to do?' He would want you to share your food and toys with those around you because peace, joy, kindness, these are all a part of God's kingdom. At the end of the day, it is not so much about what we have but it is about how we use what we have been given by God. So let's take the example of the food and toys or any other blessings that God has given to you, how would you use what you have to tell someone about God and invite them to get to know more about Jesus? As we do this, looking out for others' needs with the special ability that God has given to us, God supplies us with His peace, joy and righteousness in the the Holy Spirit, in name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Prayer: Father God, thank you that Your kingdom is within me and I take it everywhere I go to be a light and help to those you bring to me by Your grace and power in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: As children of God, we are only able to carry the Kingdom of God when we have a personal relationship with Jesus, the Son of God. This is because Jesus died for our sins and gives eternal life and by His stripes we were healed. When we receive Jesus Christ, God draws our hearts to His heart to enable us spend time with Him.

If this sounds like you, please say this prayer with me;

"Thank you Father God for sending Your One and Only Beloved Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins on the cross and who was raised from the dead so that I could have Life. I receive Him today as Lord and Saviour of my life in the name of Jesus, Amen."

Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation and redemption that we have freely received from Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Thank you LORD for each child and family member that just said this prayer and received Jesus into their hearts. Thank you LORD God that You are keeping them this day and forever and nothing will snatch them out of Your loving hands in the name of Jesus, Amen.
