The Light
Updated: Oct 1
Father God, thank you for your Word. Thank you for all that You are and continue to be in our lives, the lives of our loved one, friends, our country in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's Scripture is from John 1:4-5 (NASB)
"In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind.
And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it."
Amen, thank you LORD.
When we look at the verses above, the Word of God reminds us that Jesus is the Light. How many of us know this song? - 'This little of mine, I am going to let it shine, this little light of mine, I am going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!'
This song is beautiful because it helps us to remember that when we receive Jesus through salvation, He comes to live in our hearts. When He lives in our hearts, we receive the everlasting life of Jesus on the inside of us. After we receive everlasting life from Jesus, Jesus also gives us His light to shine in our hearts, amen. Now, how many of us know that a light is meant to shine bright for the person who it has been given to and for all those around them? - Jesus wants you to shine His light wherever you go, whether it is in helping someone, inviting them to church to know Jesus, being kind to your friends, praying for your family and friends. Jesus' Light is in you and He wants you to shine it bright everywhere you go because as you do, every darkness will go away. AMEN.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for saving me and giving me everlasting and eternal life. Thank you Jesus that Your life has also given to me Light and now I can shine this Light and share it with others just like you did for me in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Let's meditate on these Scriptures found in Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave is by laying down His life for us to receive salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you would like to receive this free gift of God's salvation, please say this prayer with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." - AMEN.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for salvation and redemption that we have freely received from Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Thank you LORD for each child and family member that just said this prayer and received Jesus into their hearts. Thank you LORD God that You are keeping them this day and forever and nothing will snatch them out of Your loving hands in the name of Jesus, Amen.
