The second greatest commandment
Father God, thank you for this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Thank you LORD for the wisdom and understanding You provide us with from Your Word in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Mark 12:31 (NKJV)
"And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
Amen, thank you LORD.
In today's lead Scripture, Jesus reminds us to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. This basically means treating people the way you would want to be treated. For example, if you would like to be treated with kindness, then be kind to other people as well starting with yourself. One way you can be kind to yourself is choosing to be patient with yourself as you learn something new. Take for instance, learning to tie your shoe laces. For some people, they need more time to learn how to tie their shoe laces while for others, they may find it easy. Whatever category you belong to is not bad. The most important thing is at whatever stage you are at, be patient with yourself and trust God to help you as you continue practicing learning how to knot your shoe laces. When you are patient with the process of your learning, this is a way of loving yourself. Eventually, you will be able to show and love another person the same way you have practiced love and grace for yourself.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the ability to love my neighbour as I love myself. I ask that You help my roots grow deeper in Your love for me as You continue to help me become more patient, kind and loving to myself. Thank you LORD that the love You have put in my heart is the same love that I will love others with just like I love myself in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again by receiving Jesus, God's Son who gives Life to everyone by forgiving all your sins and by His wounds, you are healed. Please say this prayer with me;
"Thank you Father God for sending Your One and Only Beloved Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins on the cross and who was raised from the dead so that I could have Life. I receive Him today as Lord and Saviour of my life in the name of Jesus, Amen."
