The strength of God

Has Mom or Dad ever asked you to help them around the house and you thought about how tired you may feel? Feeling tired is normal specially after a long day at school or spending the day playing with your friends at the park. In such cases, it is good to rest or take a nap.

At the same time, God's Word reminds us that even when we may feel tired, Father God still has the power to provide us with more strength when we ask Him in prayer.

In Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV), we see that the LORD "...gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength."

Later on, in Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) the LORD describes the kind of strength He gives and He compares it to the strength of the eagle. This verse says, "But those who wait on the LORD, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Can you imagine an eagle saying it is tired and it cannot fly for the rest of the day? - I cannot. I imagine it is always ready and flying with ease as it goes about its day. This strength like the eagle's is the kind of strength that God promises to give to His children.

Sometimes, your task may not involve helping Mom and Dad at home, maybe it has to do with school like studying for an assessment or for an exam or a sporting activity. Whatever it is, I want you to know that when you come to God in prayer, He is able to provide the strength you need for every activity, task or school project.

Let's pray together:

Father God, thank you for showing me that I can come boldly before Your presence and ask for Your strength LORD God. Thank you Father for You have increased my strength and because I have received it, everything I do is easy now in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father God that now I am soaring on eagle's wings, I run and I do not get weary, I walk and I do not faint as I willingly do every work to the best of my knowledge and ability in name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD for helping me.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again by receiving Jesus, God's Son who gives Life to everyone by forgiving all your sins and by His wounds, you are healed. Please say this prayer with me;

"Thank you Father God for sending Your One and Only Beloved Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins on the cross and who was raised from the dead so that I could have Life. I receive Him today as Lord and Saviour of my life in the name of Jesus, Amen."
